Shiyang Zhang is a fourth-year graduate student in the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences working with Dr. Karen Fingerman.

Research Interests
One line of Shiyang's research focuses on how personality traits (e.g., narcissism) influence older adults' everyday social contacts, as well as how personality and daily experiences intertwine to have an impact on individuals' well-being in late life. Shiyang also takes a lifespan perspective and studies the longterm influence of childhood adversity (e.g., early parental loss) on cognitive function in middle and late adulthood, as well as factors that may alleviate or exacerbate the negative effect of childhood adversity.
